Georgia Browne is a freelance historical flute player. She is at home with musical styles ranging from the Renaissance through the Baroque and Classical to the Romantic era. Georgia plays on a selection of handmade original and replica historical flutes and can be heard in concert in both chamber and orchestral contexts. She performs regularly with period instrument orchestras such as the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, the Gabrieli Players, Ensemble Pygmalion and with chamber groups Nordic Affect and Quadro Melante. Georgia is currently teaching flute at the Universities of Birmingham and Southampton. She is delighted to announce the release of her recording of music for flute by Carl Friedrich Abel on the Brilliant Classics label.
